Project developments:
- In November 1998, the foundation Chairman visited the
school, and the Shanzhizi (a type of herb) project proposal
was approved as a solution for sustainable tuition aid source.
- In January 1999, the school started to clean up the field
and applied fertilizers. Shanzhizi (a type of Chinese herb)
was planted.
- The Phelex Foundation contributed full tuition assistance
to needy students at the beginning of the project. (see
the chart below)
- Hong Kong journalist, a Lianping county native donated
RMB120,000 to the school for school building renovations.
- In Feb. 2000, 16 needy students received tuition-aid of
RMB 50.00 of each. In March 2001, 7 students received RMB
450 tuition aid and 4 teachers received RMB 400 teaching
award.
- In September, Hong Kong Yee Sing Enterprises Co. donated
RMB 1,500 worth of clothing.
- In 2002, as an effort, the Guangdong municipal government
offered RMB 3,000 to each needy family on the condition
that they send all their children to school.
- In June 2002, the project gained RMB 1,350 proceeds, which
was used for children's lunch program.
